Wrap your heads around this one. It appears that the Green Hornet is headed to the big screen. It’s all pre-production right now, apparently a script is written and stars are attached, but no filming has yet taken place. And who will play the masked crime noir hero from the golden age of radio?
Christian Bale – Not a chance, he’s busy elsewhere.
Matt Damon? Nope, everyone’s favorite super agent is sitting this one out.
Keanu Reeves? Sorry, he’s busy warning of world destruction elsewhere.
Nope. From now on, when you think The Green Hornet, you think…

So, you half as surprised as I am? I know there has been an initial reaction of “Oh really? What, Billy Zane wasn’t available?” But hold on. I remember a time when Leonardo DiCaprio was the soft-faced sweetheart of so many schoolgirl dreams. Now he plays the scruffy hardcase roles and does so brilliantly. So who’s to say that Rogen can’t pull it off.

It’ll be interesting to see what becomes of this and how Rogen does. If expectations are low and he performs well, it could catapult him into a new career trajectory (and maybe that’s the point). What do you think? Do you care? How many Green Hornet fans are there out there? If you have an opinion one way or the other, shout out in the comments area or forever hold your peace.

Word is that Stephen Chow of Kung Fu Hustle has been tapped to play Kato!
Yup, yup! Good stuff!
The Shadow knows (nose?)! haha Oh wait, wrong comic book.
Haha – that reminds me of the promo art for The Shadow (Alec Baldwin edition – 1994 was it?). He nose quite a bit by that picture!
