With sorrow, I am sad to report that Michael Crichton, author of such great novels as Jurassic Park, Congo, Sphere and Prey, died on Tuesday at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a fantastic storyteller, who wove meaningful science fiction into the fabric of our very real world and warned humanity in its sometimes immoral use of science and technology. He was taken far too young. Undoubtedly he had many books left in him and he will be sadly missed on the bestseller lists.
