Here is a movie I probably should have placed into my Remaining Top 5 Summer Movies.
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger has been a bestseller for several years now. It is a story about a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences. The book’s love story is only eclipsed by its unique take on the time travel motif, crossing the boundaries of both romance and science fiction.
Hollywood saw the cross merchandising possibilities immediately. The movie rights were snatched up and on August 14th Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams star in the movie adaptation.
The first movie trailer has been released! So check it out HERE!
Looks like a perfect date movie!
What do you think? Gonna see this?

I didn’t realize they were making this into a movie. I’ve had recommendations to read it from friends. The idea behind the story sounds pretty interesting.
I’m pretty excited about this. I’m in love with Rachel McAdams.
So, they cancelled Journeyman just as it was getting interesting, but decided a movie would work?
Coming out in Mid-August, I would say this is really well positioned to be a counter-programming/transition movie after the usual summer run of adrenalin-soaked, action-packed, rock-em-sock-em, biff-bam-pow, PG-13 films. Looks like it will likely also kick-off the Oscar buzz season.
All in all, I think this movie has pegged a perfect release date. I’m interested, but given my location and ticket prices, the question will be how motivated to see it in theater as opposed to Netflixing it later?
