This 1980’s star-studded holiday special is best watched with a couple glasses of eggnog, if you know what I mean. Rarely do you see a “kids” show that is so reminiscent of a night at Studio 54, complete with a performance by Grace Jones wearing a breastplate while singing “The Little Drummer Boy.” Top that off with a cracked-out k.d lang, Magic Johnson in a sleigh, Little Richard on ice-skates, Laurence Fishburne as a purple-coated cowboy, Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon forced into holiday-slavery, and Oprah Winfrey calling on the tin can phone.
