Here is a movie that keeps looking more… well… bad ass!
It is also getting rave reviews from super-geeks who have seen early prints of it.
April 16th can’t come soon enough.
I think Kick-Ass will be Matthew Vaughn’s break out movie. He directed Stardust, which was received with mediocre attention sadly, but this will be the one. Mark Strong, who was also in Stardust, is an excellent actor, capable of playing the most evil of villains. I personally can’t stand Nic Cage but it appears as though he is given a back seat in this one, making it palatable. The rest of the cast is largely unknown, with the possible exception of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who played Fogell in the great word-of-mouth movie Superbad.
Kick-Ass will be a word-of-mouth movie too. Watch for it.
Why? Because these characters are not superheroes. And yet they fight crime like many of us wish we could!

Look good? I think so! I can already see all of the Kick-Ass and Hit Girl costumes that are going to be needed for Halloween 2010!
