Uber-talented artist Tommy Lee Edwards was in New York recently to do a little research for the upcoming comic book series TURF. He took some time out of his schedule to visit the Del Rey offices and I asked him to sign a few copies of his ultra-rare variant cover for The Talisman #2. 2010 is looking to be a huge year for Mr. Edwards. He was the concept artist for The Book of Eli (see his great work here) and is now busy with TURF, the new vampire, gangsters, and aliens (oh my!) series he created with BBC talk show personality Jonathan Ross. Issue one, with its multitude of great variant covers, will be published in April by Image Comics.
2010 is looking to be big for The Talisman as well! Issue 3 is now available at fine comic book retailers, issue 4 is on press, and issue 5 is near completion. And the first pages for issue 1 of the next volume are starting to come in from artist Tony Shasteen. This book is getting better and better with each issue. I can’t wait for you all to see what lies ahead.
