The internet(s) gives and gives and gives.
There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.
Although it felt like a slow week for the blogging community at large, some interesting things happened. The announcement that HBO greenlit an adaptation of A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin is huge for the genre. Patrick Rothfuss wrote a long blog post about his debut book’s sequel, Wise Man’s Fear. Shadowrise by Tad Williams and Spellwright by Blake Charlton both went on sale.
I also had the opportunity to meet and hang out with Joe Hill, as well as video an event with Dan Simmons which I’ll be posting tomorrow.
Good stuff, all!
