Historical Action with The Sons of Liberty!

You’ve got to check out this great graphic novel I’ve been reading: The Sons of Liberty. It’s a historical fantasy with a great premise: two mask-wearing runaway slaves receive training in an ancient African martial art and eventually join the American Revolution against the British.
Along the way they meet famous personages like Quaker abolitionist Benjamin Lay and inventor and statesman Benjamin Franklin, gain revenge against cruel slavers and become legendary and feared fighters against oppression.
The Sons of Liberty is a fun comic read for both adults and young people. I’m having a blast seeing The Sons chop and kick their way through some of America’s worst villains, and I can’t help to imagine that if I would have read this as a kid it would have inspired me to look at my history textbooks in a new light.
