EW CELEBRATES THE MAKING OF THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

The upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly features a cover story on Del Rey and Lucas Books fall 2010 book The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back by New York Times best selling author J.W. Rinzler. The magazine’s cover story will feature several rare and never seen before photos taken from the book along with an original page from the shooting script (complete with notes from director Irvin Kershner) and quotes from the cast and crew on the set.
The book is a companion to the Rinzler’s The Making of Star Wars which was published in 2007. As with the previous book, The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back will feature over a thousand b/w and color images as well as excerpts from early script drafts and insights from the cast and crew. Mr. Rinzler spent hundreds of hours searching Lucasfilm’s archives as well as the personal collections of those involved, including George Lucas and famed artist Ralph McQuarrie.
