Living in Seattle has its perks.
And I don’t just mean the coffee! Ha!
Okay, all stupid puns aside, I love this city. Despite our weather being absolutely horrendous this year—we have set records for rainfall the last two months and this is the latest we’ve gone into the summer without a day over 75 degrees—thankfuly it doesn’t stop the authors from coming to town on tour!
Last week, bestselling author Jacqueline Carey came to Seattle in support of her new book, Naamah’s Curse. It is the second book in this current trilogy which began with Naamah’s Kiss. As always, Jacqueline was a delight. I welcomed her to The Signed Page where she signed copies of Naamah’s Curse for fans all over the world. Then she got behind the mic at the University Bookstore, where I videotaped her reading from the last book in the trilogy, Naamah’s Blessing, which led to her answering questions from her many adoring fans.
First though, here is a bit about Naamah’s Curse:
Jacqueline Carey, New York Times bestselling author of the Kushiel’s Legacy series, delivers book two in her new lushly imagined trilogy featuring daughter of Alba, Moirin.
Far from the land of her birth, Moirin sets out across Tatar territory to find Bao, the proud and virile Ch’in fighter who holds the missing half of her diadh-anam, the divine soul-spark of her mother’s people. After a long ordeal, she not only succeeds, but surrenders to a passion the likes of which she’s never known. But the lovers’ happiness is short lived, for Bao is entangled in a complication that soon leads to their betrayal.
