The internet(s) gives and gives and gives.
There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.
Last week, Suvudu posted event video from author Brent Weeks visit to Seattle, WA and the University Bookstore. Author Jeff VanderMeer wrote an article about Shared Worlds, a great organization helping young people get the opportunity to express themselves creatively. Jason Thompson keeps reading reading reading his 365 Days of Manga. And the Suvudu Free Library got a new addition—The Literomancer by Ken Liu!
In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com posted their book trailer for Towers of Midnight, Orbit Books shares that The Black Prism by Brent Weeks hit #23 on the New York Times list, and Pyr Books did a roundup of reviews for some of their newer and soon to be released titles.
