Yes, you read that right. Anne Hathaway is going to be Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the next Christopher Nolan-directed Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises.
I’m unsure as to how I feel about this. On one hand, Anne is a capable actress and Christopher Nolan seems to know what he’s doing when it comes to casting. On the other hand, Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance as Catwoman was basically what formed my idea of what she should be.
Let’s relive that performance, shall we?
So, thoughts? Who would you have cast?

Yeah, I’m in a “wait and see” with regards to Hathaway’s character. On the plus side: Christopher Nolan has given me no indication that he will futz this up from a directorial and story perspective and after the Halle Berry debacle of a Catwoman movie (and I use both of those words loosely).
To the negative: I just can’t see Anne Hathaway playing Catwoman, she’s got a lighter and sweeter rep (or, at least to my mind). And let’s not forget that Halle Berry isn’t a bad actress and had played in Superhero movies prior to Catwoman and yet…
I just keep saying: In Nolan I trust, in Nolan I trust… And to be very clear—I am really rooting for Anne to pull this role off and impress us all. I want Catwoman to rock out loud (and, yeah, be redeemed).
Also, Tom Hardy as Bane should be a real treat. I saw him in Bronson last year and the dude was incredible. As with the above, I hope the writing brings us a good character here as well.

Well, yeah, the Anne Hathaway pictured here I would have a hard time seeing as Catwoman. However, the Anne Hathaway pictured here (http://blastr.com/assets_c/2011/01/anne_hathaway_022-thumb-550×699-55625.jpg) I can totally see as catwoman.
While she does have a lighter and sweet rep, I thought she did pretty good in GET SMART. Plus didn’t she did a good job in RACHEL GETTING MARRIED? From what I could tell, that was not a light or sweet role.
