TV Guide has the scoop on a number of superhero themed television shows in the works, among them an Incredible Hulk reboot helmed by Guillermo del Toro, Cloak and Dagger and AKA Jennifer Jones, about a former superhero who opens up a detective agency that helps other superheroes. ABC is very enthusiastic about launching a Marvel franchise -maybe even more than one – very soon. Marvel, meanwhile, remains tight-lipped about these projects.
According to the article, television studios consider superhero series to be problematic, largely due to special effects and costuming. Unnamed producers cite Smallville as one of the few series to get the formula right.
