First thoughts? I’m a little surprised how good this looks. I loved the first two Sam Raimi Spider-Man films and then, like a lot of people, the third movie went right off the rails into oblivion. I didn’t like Spider-Man 3 because it lost all of the character’s fun, turning Peter Parker into an emo version of himself that I just couldn’t stand. Therefore, when The Amazing Spider-Man was announced, I cringed inwardly. A reboot? Already?
I still don’t think this is a good idea. Raimi got the fun, witty Spider-Man part right in the first two films and then lost it in the third. This new film? Spider-Man looks like emo-Spider-Man again. Just younger. Not one banterous line in the entire trailer. And the Lizard looks just plain stupid.
Still, there is a story here, one I think I might like. And come on. Emma Stone in a movie is like catnip to me.
So, what do you think about the trailer? Going to go see this? Boycott it?

I’ll go see it. I think the Lizard looks like bad cgi. I hope it doesn’t detract from the movie. Also, where are all the snappy one-liners Spider-man is known for? Looks like their going the darker route, like the Batman reboots. Spidey is not a ‘dark’ character. Interested to see how it pans out.
