Great article. Wonder Woman has always been one of my favorites. I never thought of her Lasso of Truth as a bondage item (guess I'm naive). I do sometimes have an issue with her being over-sexualized in the comics. Very skimpy outfits in general, which seems to me to diminish how powerful she is. Not to judge a book by it's cover-- but seriously, as a woman reading comics I don't want to see that much clevage! I really felt that in the Infitnite Crisis and Identity Crisis runs they did a good job of showing her as a warrior. When Wonder Woman kills Maxwell Lord I thought it readlly exemplified how she strong figure she really can be.

I have not gotten a chance to pick up Supergods yet, but it's on my list. Wonder Woman's creator and her history as a character are fascinating topics. Ink-Stained Amazon's and Cinematic Warriors by Jennifer K. Stuller also gives some insight into the character and her creator and Vaquera Films is producing a neat documentary called Wonder Women! The Untold Story of America Superheroines. http://vaquerafilms.com/wonderwoman/

Although the WW television show didn't get off the ground this year, I expect with the success of all the comic movies and movies with female leads we'll see the Amazon Warrior Princess getting a movie in the near future.
