RIP, Ray Bradbury

RIP, Ray Bradbury

Our friends at IO9 just broke the very sad news that science fiction legend Ray Bradbury has died.

Bradbury, the author of many short stories and novels, among them the American classics Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Martian Chronicles, died this morning in Los Angeles. He was 91 years old.

Despite his age, Bradbury remained an active figure in science fiction circles, appearing at events when able. He was the recipient of many awards, including the National Medal of Arts, presented to him by President George W. Bush.

Our condolences to Bradbury’s family, friends and innumerable fans. We all mourn the passing of one of American literature’s giants.
