NASA has had an amazing week: putting a rover on the surface of Mars with what might as well be pinpoint precision is nothing to laugh about. However, science doesn’t always work out right the first time. As a matter of fact, mistakes are the way we improve all of the things that we do, including rocket science. Sadly, these mistakes can be expensive. Take for instance the recent crash and burn of NASA’s Morpheus vertical take off and landing rocket vehicle. That’s a lot of time and money melting down on the tarmac, but it’s the way things go sometimes. (and on the bright side, it is pretty cool looking to watch. BIG BADDA BOOM!)
