Every week, I’ll be bringing you a comic book cover that I feel eclipses others out there—to the point I might just have to own it!
The BadAss Comic Book Cover for this week is for Team 7 #0. The New 52 has been going now for a year but there have been some exclusions to that line-up. Fans wanted to know more. In response, DC Comics editor-in-chief Bob Harras said about the Issue #0s: “Some issues will tell the origins of a character or a team, or in some case where an origin has already been told, they will fill in the blanks in terms of questions readers may have about the New 52 DC Universe. Each of these issues promises to reveal something surprising.”
Why do I love this cover though? It takes me back in time. When Jim Lee left Marvel Comics in the early 1990’s and formed his own comic book publishing company called Wildstorm, he created a great history for the new universe he would play in. Team 7 was a part of that history, a special ops team that fought decades in the past but whose empowered children played a primary role in the Wildstorm continuity. When Wildstorm moved to DC Comics, so too did that continuity—and now Team 7 has been resurrected to pose a hardship on emerging superheroes in the New 52! Great cover with the team, busting onto the scene in their new series!
