Check it out! MTV Geek went all “cage match” during this interview with A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin. If you’ve ever wondered who would win in a fight between GRRM’s characters and J.R.R. Tolkien’s then you’re in luck. Take a look: (Warning: Spoilers!)

So who wins a fight: Smaug or Balerion? Frodo or Tyrion? Wargs or Dire Wolves? Fantasy fanatics have certainly debated which character would whoop which if a rift suddenly opened beyond The Wall and The Shire and George R.R. Martin’s “Game of Thrones” universe met J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic “Lord of the Rings” in a Hobbit on Dothraki(not fair!) bloodbath!

    Love me both some Martin and some Tolkien… but none of the matchups posed here are very interesting… With the exception of the big guns in Tolkien’s series, they lose across the board. Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas are probably going to beat the Mountain, Darkstar, and Bronn, but after that, I see most all of the matchups favoring Martin’s guys.
