sanderson-wordsThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Suvudu featured the First 50 Pages of The Demon Awakens by R.A. Salvatore. Logan Balestrino continued his re-read of Fellowship of the Ring, just in time for the release of The Desolation of Smaug. Matt Staggs interviewed Daniel Loxton, co-author of Abominable Science, as well as posted his 2014 New Year Reading Resolutions! Eric Geller featured the newest Star Wars HoloNet Digest. And I posted a letter from author Terry Brooks detailing his 2014 and beyond plans!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com posted the Michael Whelan endpapers for Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson, Pyr Books revealed their writers’ favorite books of 2013, and Orbit Books posted the UK cover for The High Druid’s Blade by Terry Brooks!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Suvudu week ending 1/4/14:

  • Review: The Desolation of Smaug, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Release Updates: Lynch, Cameron, and McClellan, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: Cloak & Spider by David Dalglish, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Review: Range of Ghosts by Elizabeth Bear, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Giveaway: The Golem & the Jinni by Helene Wecker, given by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Comment: Best of 2013, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Interview: Jose Prendes, author of Mega Shark v. Mecha Shark, posted by SF Signal
  • Comment: Books & Games 2014, read by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Suvudu readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
