To celebrate this book that has helped define the genre since 1977, Del Rey Books will be publishing The Annotated Sword of Shannara, a book I worked on as Terry’s long-time webmaster.

Thirty-five years ago, The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks published to fantasy acclaim worldwide.
It took more than just a great book though. Lester del Rey and his wife Judy-Lynn knew a winner when they saw one but they wanted to give that winner the best chance possible. They hired two of the most talented artists in the genre to paint the cover and interior artwork for the book.
Those artists were Greg & Tim Hildebrandt. I asked Greg a number of questions in an interview to celebrate this week’s momentous anniversary. Here it is! Enjoy!
