Yesterday I had the distinct pleasure of chatting with legendary comic book author and novelist Warren Ellis. We talked about tons of neat stuff: aliens, space travel, artificial life and more. We even spoke about comic books for a minute or two! (Yes, it’s true what they say about Iron Man 3.)
A lot of things come to mind when I think about the future: a glorious melding of man and artificial intelligence, the colonization of the solar system, among them. It’s practically part of the creed as a science fiction fan. But what if technological progress isn’t going to be part of our future for much longer? What happens if instead of moving forward we start to slip back into time?

There's no such thing as "overdue" for a random event. Probability math doesn't work that way....
