Sci-Fi Film ‘Gravity’ Grabs Best Director Oscar – First for Genre!


Gravity_PosterCongratulations to Alfonso Cuaron! The director won an Oscar for his 2013 film Gravitythe first such Oscar for any science fiction film. That’s reason enough to celebrate if your a fan of the film or Cuaron, but that’s not all! Gravity also took home Oscars for best visual effects, best sound editing, best sound mixing, best cinematography, best film editing, and best original score. It was also nominated for best picture, best actress, and best production design. Not too bad a night, huh?
