By this time, Superman had been killed in his battle with Doomsday, but not even his enemy’s death could deter the Cyborg. If he could not kill the Man of Steel himself, Henshaw would settle for destroying his reputation with erratic, unheroic, and destructive behavior while passing himself off as Superman. He claimed to be the dead hero returned to life, his body having been reconstructed and resuscitated by advanced Kryptonian technology.
