Return with me now to make-believe movie mogul land: A place we’ve inhabited together over the last three weeks. We started on January 6 when I asked you what the next big movie franchise based on a science fiction or fantasy novel/series might be. Our readers nominated about a dozen titles. In part two, I narrowed down these titles to a handful of the most popular and asked you to vote for your favorite. Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden series won hands down. Votes came pouring in, but it was Dead Beat that came in a winner, and it did so by a landslide. Today, I’d like for you to pick out a director for our pretend movie, but first, let’s take a look at Dead Beat and see what we’ve got to work with.
