And, I have to admit, The Amazing Spider-Man looks pretty good. It’s a solid trailer. Will that translate into a good movie though? Can they capture the true spirit of Peter Parker? Or is this a movie for young teenagers, the superhero reduced to WB Vampire Diaries status?

I see a few downright familiar images – the Space Jockey and his chair, the derelict ship – and a lot of stuff that certainly seems to be in the spirit of ALIEN. With John Carter, The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ,and now Prometheus, 2012 is beginning to look like one heck of a year for SF/F cinema!
